Exhibited at Homo Faber - Shigekazu Nagae

Six works by Shigekazu Nagae were chosen to be exhibited at “Homo Faber” – the cultural event to introduce modern craftsmanship – in Venice, Italy from April 10th to May 1st, 2022.

Homo Faber is an event run by the Michelangelo Foundation, a non-profit organization based in Geneva, Switzerland. Through an array of materials, skills, live demonstrations, and immersive digital experiences they showcase imaginative handmade works.

This was the second edition of the event since its beginning in 2018, with Japan as its main theme. The works of of artists such as Tomoko Kawauchi were curated by the director of the MOA Museum of Art and the Hakone Museum of Art, Tokugo Uchida and designer Naoto Fukasawa. These works were exhibited at an old monastery built in the 16th century on the island of San Giorgio Maggiore in Venice.

Mr. Nagae was one of the artists chosen to represent Japan, and a total of 6 works were exhibited at the venue during the exhibition period. Congratulations to Mr. Nagae!
